Comprehensive work carried out over the past year as part of the ‘Create in Izmir’ project, initiated by Izmir University of Economics (IEU) to support creative industries and entrepreneurship in the Aegean Region, has yielded results. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) continued its centenary celebrations of the Republic with the Sirius Quartet concert. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) started the Republic enthusiasm with a parade on the campus. Accompanied by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Band, the parade, which was attended by students and faculty members as well as kindergarten children, was full of colorful scenes.

The ‘JoinMe’ project, initiated under the coordination of Izmir University of Economics (IEU), aimed at addressing issues that international students may face in areas such as disability, racial, and cultural differences, has been completed. 

Oğul Görgülü, a graduate of Izmir University of Economics (IEU), designed a boat named ‘Vatoz’ (stingray) with three of his friends to clean solid and liquid waste on the sea surface. 

Onur Cavit Biriz, a national surfer and student of Izmir University of Economics (IUE), won the silver medal for our country by placing second in the International Games held in Italy. 

4 professors from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) were included in the 'World's Most Influential Scientists List' announced by a special research team led by Dr. John Ioannidis from Stanford University in the United States (USA). 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) students, who managed to receive awards at TEKNOFEST two years in a row with the cargo transport and attack helicopters they developed, attended the International Astronautical Congress held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, as guests.

Jairo David Estrada Barrios, the Ambassador of Guatemala, one of the Central American countries, in Republic of Turkey, and Stephanie Garcia H. de Elbay, the Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Guatemala visited Izmir University of Economics (IUE).

The ‘Mentorship Project’ (Peer Mentor) of Izmir University of Economics, which has been ongoing for 8 years to accelerate the adaptation process of young students who are new to the campus, was successfully implemented this year as well.
