The electric car developed by Izmir University of Economics (IUE) students to be exhibited at TEKNOFEST, Turkey's first and only aerospace and technology festival, was highly admired. 

The ‘Congress of the Turkish Society of Surgical and Operating Room Nurses’, which will be organized internationally this year with the cooperation of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing and Turkish Surgical and Operating Room Nurses Association, will bring together more than 500 healthcare professionals. 

Dilge Kocabaş, a Faculty of Medicine student at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), was elected as the president of the European Medical Students’ Association (EMSA), headquartered in Belgium, with approximately 50 thousand student members from 130 universities. 

Forty-eight students, who started their education at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Medicine this year, took the first step towards becoming a physician by putting on their white coats and taking the ‘Medical Student Oath’. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) has been authorized by the Ministry of Trade to provide vocational training in English or Turkish to people working in the health tourism industry. IUE became the first university in the Aegean Region to receive this authorization.

185 students who successfully completed their master's and doctorate degrees at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) received their diplomas with a graduation ceremony full of enthusiasm and excitement. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şölen Kipöz from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Textile and Fashion Design and İpek Karatop, who graduated this year, won the first place in Turkey in the competition called ‘Design the Cycle’. 

The first bell rang for pre-school and first grade students across Turkey, and thousands of children were excited to start school. Gizem Simge Kısa, clinical psychologist at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), gave advice to families in order to speed up the process of children's adaptation to school and prevent them from getting anxious. 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar Oğuz Ekim, Lecturer at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), was awarded a 75 thousand Euro grant from the European Union for her autonomous transport robot developed for use in the supply centers, warehouses or factories of large companies. 

Asst. Prof. Dr. Deniz Avcı Hosanlı, Lecturer at Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Cansu Değirmencioğlu, PhD candidate from the Chair of Architecture at the Technical University of Munich, prepared a project that examines the Ataturk (Keçiören) Sanatorium, which was established in Ankara about 70 years ago for the treatment of tuberculosis patients, from an architectural, historical and social perspective.
