It has been reported that generation Z started their university education this year, and learning methods for this new generation needed to be researched thoroughly. Izmir University of Economics (IUE) hosted the “English as a Medium of Instruction at Universities: An Integrated Approach 2” workshop sponsored by the Cambridge University Press.

In  scope  of Good Design__3, which was organized by İzmir Akdeniz Akademisi, Department of Architecture part-time instructors Ertunç Hünkar and Mehtap Altuğ held a workshop titled “Akışkan Zeminde Seyrüsefer Atölyesi”.

The leading role of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) in education is reaching out to the business world. A protocol has been signed between Mahmut Özgener, Chairman of Izmir Chamber of Commerce, and President of Board of Trustees of Izmir University of Economics, and Aydın Buğra İlter, President of Aegean Young Businessmen Association (EGIAD). The protocol allows members of EGIAD, and employees working at companies owned by members of EGIAD to receive graduate education at a discounted price. A 25% discount in tuition fees will be applied as part of the protocol. 

Talented students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) will gain experience at Gediz Electricity Retail Sales Corporation. The "Talent Management Project" signed between Gediz Electricity and Izmir University of Economics will allow 35 students studying at various departments and programs of IUE to perform internship at Gediz Electricity.

Youth with Down syndrome displayed their fine motor skills and created theater masks, and painted them. Under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Duygu Ebru Öngen Corsini, Faculty Member of Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Faculty of Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), the youth used waste and recycled paper and made masks that are used in performance arts.  

Dr. Elvan Ergülen, TUBITAK-BIDEB 2232 scholar and post-doctoral fellow in Izmir University of
Economics, School of Medicine, has received a ‘’poster award’’ for her project entitled ‘’DNAJA1 as a
Novel Interacting Partner of Human Transglutaminase 2’’, which was also selected for oral
presantation, in FEBS Advanced Lecture Course “Extracellular Matrix: Cell Regulation, Epigenetics &
Modeling”, held in the Conference and Cultural Centre of the University of Patras, 27th Sept - 2nd
Oct 2018, organized by Prof. Nikos Karamanos, vice rector of the University of Patras, Greece.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) is getting ready to carry the “increasing graduate education rates in order to enhance the occupational licensing and competency of teachers” goal into effect, which is in the 100-Day Action Plan of Ministry of National Education announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Students will get ready for job interviews professionally. A protocol has been signed between Mahmut Özgener, President of Board of Trustees, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Makbule Dank, Acting Provincial Director of Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR), Izmir in order to carry out ISKUR’s “İş Kulübü, Bu Kulüpte İş Var (Job Club)” event at IUE Vocational School.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Vocational School (VS) welcomed the new academic year. Coordinatorships within the IUE Vocational School have been introduced and information on projects such as “Çıraklar Ustalara Soruyor (Apprentices Asking Masters)”, “Graduate Success Stories, “MYO Prodüksiyon(VS Production)”, which will be carried out through the year, has been shared with the audience at the ceremony held at IUE Conference Hall.

Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) held the “1^st International Nursing Leadership and Professional Organization Workshop” and the “1^st National Surgical Nursing Education Workshop”. The workshop, co-organized with Turkish Society of Surgical and Operating Room Nurses, addressed the international professional organization of nurses, and the curriculum of nursing education in Turkey.
