25 students of Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) prepared products with a long shelf life, filling and nutritious value to be sent to Hatay, one of the cities most affected by the earthquake. 

After the earthquake disaster, the epicenter of which was Kahramanmaraş and which caused destruction in 10 cities, thousands of citizens rushed to test the robustness of the building they live in. 

Prof. Dr. Celalettin Kozanoğlu, Head of Department of Civil Engineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), stated that many buildings that were destroyed in the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş were destroyed due to project, material and application errors.

Two earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6, the epicenter of which were in Kahramanmaraş and caused destruction in 10 cities, increased the risk of ‘earthquake trauma’ in children as well as adults. 

Dr. Elif Kocabıyık Savasta, Lecturer at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Industrial Design, and her husband Dr. Daniele Savasta bought and renovated the 150-year-old mansion in Kemeraltı and was awarded the ‘Respect for History’ award by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.

The ‘Mira’ project, launched in Izmir with the aim of increasing the employment opportunities of women in disadvantaged regions, after reaching 60 people in our country, also gave hope to women from England, Portugal and Romania. 

Izmir Chamber of Commerce (IZTO), Izmir Development Agency (IZKA) and Izmir University of Economics (IUE) have launched an exemplary project that will guide companies, operating in the textile sector, in the ‘Green Consensus’ process. 

Students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Vocational School Architectural Restoration Program took action to make the 160-year-old Taxiarchis Church, which is idle in the Germencik district of Aydın, the focal point of tourism. 

The team of 5, consisting of students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE), made it to the finals in the ‘Research Challenge’ organized by the CFA Institute, one of the most respected international organizations in the field of finance. 

The results of the ‘Smart Campus Idea and Project Competition’ organized by the Izmir Universities Platform (IUP) with the theme of ‘what can be done about sustainability in my university’ have been announced.
