IUE Teaching and Learning Center (TLC - Ekoeğitim), which played a major role in the success of distance education of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) with intense effort and support after the transition to distance education in Turkey in March due to Covid-19 pandemic, continues its preparations for the new academic year.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE), which hosted approximately 80 Erasmus students from 13 different countries last year, also made a difference with the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Club established within its body. The club, formed by IUE student volunteers in order to facilitate the integration process of the guest students coming for the first time to our country and Izmir, to help them get to know the city and improve the communication with Turkish students, was chosen the "best branch" in the assessment made among 42 universities in Turkey. 

Entrepreneurs from Izmir University of Economics, who adopt the understanding of quality and personalized service in the e-commerce sector and support domestic brands, bring the world's most prestigious international business awards to Izmir. The siblings, Esra and Melis Sarıhan, both graduates of Izmir University of Economics (IUE), were crowned with awards they received consecutively for the success of their e-commerce initiative named baskasindarama.com.

Izmir University of Economics Continuing education Center (IUE EKOSEM) became the first foundation university in Turkey to have received an international accreditation given by "Pearson" company operating in the field of education solutions in nearly 100 countries. 

An autonomous robot that can re-route using artificial intelligence, when it encounters an obstacle, has been developed with the project carried out at Izmir University of Economics (IUE). Autonomous vehicle prototype was produced after approximately 2 years of work as part of the "Design and Development of a Device for Finding Location, Mapping and Route Planning for Autonomous Ground Vehicles Used in Indoors" project supported by TUBITAK.

Çağıl Saydam, who graduated from Department of Cinema and Digital Media, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) this year, came in first place at the 27^th International Adana Altın Koza Film Festival with her “61 Sokak No 4” titled film based on the dialogues of a woman living alone at home. 

The “In Social Isolation” titled photography competition, organized by Art Coordinatorship of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) aiming for university students to take photos that best describe the pandemic period, has been finalized.

Mimar Kemalettin Fashion Center will turn into a 24-hour living space by designers from Izmir University of Economics. Mimar Kemalettin Fashion Center, Turkey's wedding dress production center in Izmir, which has become the most important markets of Europe and Middle East countries, the square and its surroundings at the intersection of Necati Bey Boulevard and Mimar Kemalettin Street will be the focal point of tourists and Izmir residents with its new look and facilities.

After graduating from Izmir University of Economics (IUE), Okan Ataman, who went to Germany for a master's degree, took a completely different path in the restaurant where he started to work by washing vegetables and fruits to make use of his spare time. With the advantage of a foreign language he learned in the University, Ataman, who self-improved in a short period of time at the "Extrablatt" named restaurant in Siegen and became a chef assistant, returned to Turkey and decided to establish his business in the food area.

Costumes and designs of cinema, film and theater plays in Germany are brought to the stages with the signatures of designers from Izmir University of Economics. Jörn Fröhlich, Lecturer, Department of Textile and Fashion Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), got inspired by the musical Queen of the Desert and designed the set and costume for the movie titled "Gerd-Königin des Odenwaldes", which will be premiered in October.
