We rushed to the hairdressers to feel refreshed
Reopened beauty salons, hairdressers and barbers, as part of the "Normalization Process" which started to be implemented with the reduction in coronavirus cases, have been flooded with customers from the first day. As thousands lined up to refresh their looks, Asst. Prof. Nevra Cem Ersoy, Lecturer, Department of Psychology, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), stated that psychological factors were determinative in this behavior as well as the needs.
We got addicted to video games during quarantine
During this process, where we could not go out due to the coronavirus, thousands of people, who were looking for ways to spend time without getting bored at home, found the cure in the "games". Studies have shown that money spent on video games has increased by 60 percent and game downloads have increased by 30 percent compared to last year.
IUE students did not forget the elderly on Mother's Day
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Student Council celebrated the “Mother’s Day” of the elderly staying in nursing homes who could not go outside for a long time due to the coronavirus. IUE students delivered the 42 houseplants, they obtained in collaboration with the 5th professional group, ‘Ornamental Plants, Landscaping and Pets Group’ of Izmir Chamber of Commerce, to the Family and Social Policies Izmir Provincial Directorate to be presented to the elderly.
