The fourth session of the webinar series, co-organized  by Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Turkish Surgical and Operating Room Nurses Association, took place with the participation of experienced nurses from different hospitals. Operating Room Nurse Sariye Gürdal, Operating Room Supervisor Nurse Meryem Çelik, Executive Nurse İlknur Yayla from Directorate of Nursing Services, and Operating Room Supervisor Nurse Gülcan Bağdaçiçek participated as speakers in the session moderated by Prof. Filiz Öğce, Dean of IUE Faculty of Health Sciences, and  the President of Turkish Surgical and Operating Room Nurses Association.

Department of English Translation and Interpreting, Faculty of Arts and Science, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), teaches its students 3 foreign languages ​​and enables them to become global. With an innovative vision, in line with the curriculum to be implemented this year in order to raise well-equipped young people, students will be able to choose either or French or Italian for 4 years in addition to English. Students will learn Spanish, German, Russian, Japanese or Chinese starting form the third grade. This way, translators from Izmir University of Economics will be able to translate a second foreign language in addition to English, and graduate by learning a third foreign language at a level that they can use effectively.

Its successful fight against the coronavirus, being the center of tourism projects, and becoming one of Turkey's most comfortable city in transportation, turned the construction indicator to Izmir. In Izmir, which has a population of 4.3 million and competes with the world's leading cities at the rate of increase in housing prices, the number of residences under construction has reached 15 thousand. 

Architects from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) returned with an award from the "Mars 2050 Habitat Idea Competition" organized in cooperation with Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Bursa Technical University. IUE Design Studies Integrated Doctorate Program student İrem Ercan and Architecture graduate student Talha Üge, received honorable mentions in the professional category.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Engineering successfully passed the internationally validated 46 criteria assessment conducted by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MUDEK). At the end of the meticulous examination in many areas including the subjects covered in the curriculum and the physical facilities provided by the university; Computer Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Software Engineering departments qualified to be accredited for two years.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Faculty of Business cooperated with PwC, one of the world's leading auditing and consultancy firms, in order to improve students' internship opportunities and allow them to take courses from international names. The agreement made with PwC firm will provide priority internship and job opportunities to the students of IUE Department of Accounting and Auditing. 

Yağız Şenoğlu, student at Graphics Design Program, Izmir University of Economics (IUE),  started to work at Leo AR, a company operating in the field of "augmented reality" in Silicon Valley in the USA, which is known as the technology center of the world. Şenoğlu, who has attracted the attention of the world-famous company with his graphic design works so far, achieved great success by getting into business life before he even graduated.

The second session of the webinar series, co-organized  by Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Turkish Surgical and Operating Room Nurses Association, took place with the participation of Asst. Prof. Deniz Ceylan Tufan Özalp, Lecturer at IUE Faculty of Medicine. The event, which was held within the scope of seminars on the experiences and problems of the nurses involved in the pandemic period, was carried out on the blackboard collaborate infrastructure of Izmir University of Economics. 258 participants took part in the seminar titled “You Have A Word in the Pandemic Period: What We Learn, Your Experiences”.

Onur Güzey, graduate of Department of Business Administration, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), established Turkey's first Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) approved finance portal and helped  firms to find the source of about 50 million in a short time. The www.hamilinden.com, which enables SMEs, in addition to major companies, to meet their financial needs in the most accurate way, has reached 40 thousand users with its accounting integrations in the last year. 

Aydolun Petenkaya, who completed Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Genetics and Bioengineering as a top student with a full scholarship and conducted many research studies during her education, entered the radar of universities in America. Receiving a PhD scholarship offer from 3 different universities, Petenkaya used her preference for the world-famous University of Illinois in Chicago, USA.
