Faculty of Law, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) prepared the “Online Seminars on the Impacts of Covid-19 Coronavirus on Law” event, where the impacts of coronavirus on law are addressed in detail. Impacts of Covid-19 on different areas of law and legal evaluations regarding these impacts meet the audience in the seminars held as part of IUE Campus Izmir Talks.
Entrepreneurs get together in “shared minds”
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) participates in the ‘Covid19 Shared Minds Platform’, a social responsibility project co-created by almost 50 universities, companies, and institutions from different parts of Turkey, to provide support to aspiring entrepreneurs.
Coronavirus and sleep problems
The coronavirus pandemic, which has turned the world upside down and affected all aspects of our lives, including daily life, work habits and social interaction, and much more, has also increased sleep complaints. With the COVID-19 lockdown and the public instructed to stay at home, many of us are feeling anxious - and it is affecting our sleep. Asst. Prof. Yasemin Meral Öğütçü, Director of Psychological Research and Application Center, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), has tips for those who stay up all night.
Dean Bayramoğlu’s lecture on ‘distance education’
Prof. İsmihan Bayramoğlu, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Science, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), has participated as a guest speaker at an international forum on distance education titled, “New Opportunities and Contemporary Approaches” held by the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
‘Future is Ours’
A special song is composed in order to lift our spirits during these days when the coronavirus cases started to decline, and to call attention to the “Stay at Home” orders pointed out by the experts all the time. Alaskar Abbasov, Music Consultant, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Aslıhan Doğu, Graduate of IUE Department of Psychology, prepared a song together called “Gelecek Bizim (The Future is Ours)” which is about overcoming coronavirus and getting back to normal life.
Caloric overload warning
Prof. Nazan Turhan, Head of Department of Food Engineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), stated that an adequate and balanced diet was necessary to boost the immune system and that we all needed to watch the caloric overload during this period when we are all confined to homes due to coronavirus.
Online Therapy
The Coronavirus (Covid-19), which became a global threat and caused more than 200 thousand people to die so far, drove Turkish citizens, who study or work abroad, to receive “online therapy” for psychological support. Citizens, who live in different parts of Europe that are 2 to 4 thousand kilometers away from Turkey, started to get in touch with psychologist in our country and started online therapy sessions.
