Next generation of designers will work on sustainable fashion thanks to the collaboration between Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Yeşim Textile. Seniors of IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design will use the fabrics manufactured by Yeşim Textile and create designs on sustainability. Students will attend workshops in Izmir and Bursa.

IUE students; Don’t feel anxious, take precautions

Young and middle age group without any chronic health concerns such as diabetes, COPD, heart disease, immune deficiency, are less likely to get affected by the new coronavirus (Covid-19).

Your health is very important to us.

During this break from the school, avoid going to crowded places such as movie theaters, gyms, shopping centers, etc. Watch for symptoms; get medical help if you have sore throat, fever, cough, and fatigue. Stay away from sick people, get plenty of liquids, eat healthy, and sleep well.

Coronavirus, which became a global threat recently, causes negative effects on the world economy as well. Prof. Oğuz Esen, Lecturer, Department of Economics, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), pointed that China has become known as "the world's factory", and the production has paused due to the outbreak, which caused investors to flee to safe havens worldwide.    

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Men’s Tennis Team is riding high. The team performed successfully at the University Sports Federation 1st League Tennis Competitions and moved up to the Super League. On the other hand, IUE Women’s Tennis Team, who was competing at the Super league, performed very good, and beat Istanbul Technical University in their final game, and qualified to stay in the Super League.

International research project of Asst. Prof. Günnur Güler from Department of Biomedical Engineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), on “proteins”, which are being used in wide variety of areas, including making of vaccines and medicines, and cell studies, has been accepted by TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Vocational School collaborated with Kuika, one of Turkey’s leading software development platforms, and organized a  “Software and Design Camp” for its 35 students.

The “TUSIAD’s Bu Gençlikte İŞ Var! Aegean Entrepreneurship Camp”, which was initiated with the collaboration of TUSIAD and EGIAD last year in order to support the entrepreneurial young people in the Aegean Region, was hosted by Izmir University of Economics (IUE) this year.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) organized a surprise trip for 43 students who came to the University as part of Erasmus and other international exchange programs. Guest students, who came to Izmir for the first time, had an unforgettable day visiting the House of Virgin Mary, the Ancient City of Ephesus, and Sirince Village.
