Colombia's most outstanding photographer Hernán Díaz’s exhibition, which includes a select group of 25 black and white photographs, taken between 1959 and 1990, met with art enthusiasts at Izmir University of Economics (IUE).

The project of Prof. Mehmet Efe Biresselioğlu, Lecturer at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), which he co-developed with academics from 5 countries to encourage use of renewable resources and “low carbon” technology in energy production, received support from the European Union (EU).

The claims about personal banking information for 463 thousand 378 people being compromised in Turkey, brought up the safety of online shopping. Prof. Süleyman Kondakçı, who indicated that scammers steal personal data with unimaginable methods, said, “The alleged numbers are very high. Such scammers extend over a period of time and steal amounts as small as 50 kuruş to 1 lira, and use those information to withdraw larger amounts later on. It is very important to read your credit card statement carefully to spot any unauthorized charges or billing errors."

Students of Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) will be presenting their new designs to welcome 2020. Students’ designs will be presented with a fashion show that will take place at the Fit Club located at IUE E Block on Thursday, December 26 at 19.00.  

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) signed a collaboration protocol with Ramada Encore by Wyndham Izmir Hotel to allow its students to get familiar with the business world before they graduate and self-develop. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Izmir Advertisers Association shook hands for the future of prospective communication professionals. Prof. Murat Aşkar, Rector of Izmir University of Economics, and Turusan Çiner, President of Izmir Advertisers Association, signed a collaboration agreement. The agreement will facilitate partnerships that will allow students of IUE Faculty of Communication to increase their experience, and support them with career planning in the field of advertising.

Students of Izmir University of Economics Vocational School Civil Aviation Cabin Services, and Civil Aviation Transportation Management Programs visited the Turkish Airlines (THY) booth at the Travel Turkey Fair as part of the International Civil Aviation Day. Students got a chance to meet with the officials of THY Cabin Services and Turkish Do&Co with the support of THY Izmir Sales Directorate. After the meeting, Ömer Faruksarardı, a second year student of Civil Aviation Transportation Management Program won a round trip ticket from Turkish Airlines in the raffle.

Ecem Çelik, a senior at Department of Cinema and Digital Media, Faculty of Communication, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), received awards at festivals held in India and Slovakia for her short film about a story of a little girl escaping the war in her homeland, Syria and taking refuge in Turkey.
