Izmir University of Economics (IUE) hosted an event to increase the interest of young people in game development industry, which is a rapidly growing industry in Turkey, and aims for an export goal between 2.5 to 10 billion dollars by 2023.  

Young fashion designer of Izmir University of Economics makes her debut in cabin crew uniforms. The collection of Yaren Eren, a senior at Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), who came in first place at the cabin crew uniform design competition held among students by an airline company for the first time, are being used now. 

Series of “Picasso ile Kübik Bakmak” (Going Cubic with Picasso) events will be held on 25 October - 5 December by the collaboration of Izmir University of Economics Creative Economy Research Center (IUE KREA) and Arkas Art Center. 

Students of Department of Architecture, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) designed capsule hotel for frequent travelers to help them find accommodations. Students, by basing their designs on human body and its basic movements, focused on how travelers can sleep most comfortably in small bed-sized rooms.

Local tastes of Izmir are turned into art, and are being exhibited at the 8^th WTA International Biennial of Contemporary Textile Art in Madrid, Spain among the artworks from all over the world.

Kubilay Yılmazer, graduate of Izmir University of Economics (IUE), Mert Güvel, IUE third year student, and Oğuz Gökkaya, student from Katip Çelebi University, are going global with a smart phone program that matches friends via artificial intelligence. 

The IUE German Language Department held its traditional Oktoberfest event.

Asst. Prof. Cem Özcan, Lecturer at Faculty of Law, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), warned citizens about imposters, who take advantage of the second-hand car market boom, and disappear into thin air after receiving the earnest money deposit. 

Prof. Murat Aşkar, Rector of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) stated that the University supports Turkey’s Operation Peace Spring against terror organizations. Pointing out the importance of the Operation Peace Spring in terms of security of the country, Prof. Aşkar said, “Our hearts and thoughts are with the brave Turkish soldiers who are defending our country in Turkey’s Operation Peace Spring against the terrorists in the Northeast Syria.”

The charging energy sharing network and transfer equipment developed by future engineers of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) for electric and autonomous cars, which are the future of automotive industry, is riding high.
