Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Izmir Advertisers Association shook hands for the future of prospective communication professionals. Prof. Murat Aşkar, Rector of Izmir University of Economics, and Turusan Çiner, President of Izmir Advertisers Association, signed a collaboration agreement. The agreement will facilitate partnerships that will allow students of IUE Faculty of Communication to increase their experience, and support them with career planning in the field of advertising.

Students of Izmir University of Economics Vocational School Civil Aviation Cabin Services, and Civil Aviation Transportation Management Programs visited the Turkish Airlines (THY) booth at the Travel Turkey Fair as part of the International Civil Aviation Day. Students got a chance to meet with the officials of THY Cabin Services and Turkish Do&Co with the support of THY Izmir Sales Directorate. After the meeting, Ömer Faruksarardı, a second year student of Civil Aviation Transportation Management Program won a round trip ticket from Turkish Airlines in the raffle.

Ecem Çelik, a senior at Department of Cinema and Digital Media, Faculty of Communication, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), received awards at festivals held in India and Slovakia for her short film about a story of a little girl escaping the war in her homeland, Syria and taking refuge in Turkey.

Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Izmir Chamber of Commerce 70^th Architecture Group- Future Female Designers co-organized a “Female Architects Panel”. Architects Pınar Odaman, Yosun Ezgi Demirci, Elif Sağlamer, Nur Kocasoy Bağcı, and Jülide Tutan Hergül attended the panel as speakers which was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Aslı Ceylan Öner, Head of IUE Department of Architecture. The panelists shared their experiences with, and gave advice to the future architects, and told them to gain experience and specialize in a specific area.

Study of Asst. Prof. Aylin Koçak, Lecturer at Department of Psychology, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), on the effects of marital discord on teenagers, led to some eye-catching results. 

The project on early detection of cardiac arrhythmia of Prof. Türker İnce, Head of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), which he developed with two academics from Finland and Qatar, has been granted an award by an international journal.

Faculty of Law, Izmir University of Economics held a conference titled, “Legal Aspect of Mobbing”. Assoc. Prof. Alp Limoncuoğlu and Asst. Prof. Mine Kasapoğlu Turhan, Asst. Deans of IUE Faculty of Law, and Asst. Prof. Cem Özcan attended the conference as speakers. Students showed great interest to the conference where mobbing was addressed with case examples.  

Students of Department of Occupational Health and Safety, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) visited TUPRAG (Mining Company) Efemçukuru Gold Mine at Menderes 230 meters below ground surface and examined the area.

Chinese Artist Ali Lei Gong, who is one of the most significant representatives of painting and calligraphy art worldwide, and his son Chuanyi Lei, met with students at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) for two days.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE), which aims to generate projects in order to increase youth entrepreneurship and develop new business models, gathered 100 high school students in Izmir at a ‘zero waste’ themed Innovation Camp.
