Sustainability theme in university-industry collaboration
Next generation of designers will work on sustainable fashion thanks to the collaboration between Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Yeşim Textile. Seniors of IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design will use the fabrics manufactured by Yeşim Textile and create designs on sustainability. Students will attend workshops in Izmir and Bursa.

The coronavirus spreading in China causes investors to flee to a safe haven
Coronavirus, which became a global threat recently, causes negative effects on the world economy as well. Prof. Oğuz Esen, Lecturer, Department of Economics, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), pointed that China has become known as "the world's factory", and the production has paused due to the outbreak, which caused investors to flee to safe havens worldwide.
IUE Men’s Tennis Team is at the Super League
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Men’s Tennis Team is riding high. The team performed successfully at the University Sports Federation 1st League Tennis Competitions and moved up to the Super League. On the other hand, IUE Women’s Tennis Team, who was competing at the Super league, performed very good, and beat Istanbul Technical University in their final game, and qualified to stay in the Super League.
‘Protein’ project by IUE academic
International research project of Asst. Prof. Günnur Güler from Department of Biomedical Engineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), on “proteins”, which are being used in wide variety of areas, including making of vaccines and medicines, and cell studies, has been accepted by TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey).
