DESIGNS FOR A COMFORTABLE HOLIDAY
Vacationists are finally getting the comfort they seek in the furniture designed by students of Izmir University of Economics for bungalows. Bungalow furniture, designed by students of IUE Department of Industrial Design, and Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design for 8 different locations, is being displayed at MODEKO 2016 27th Izmir Furniture Fair. Students are offering alternative products with their unique designs for bungalows in Yedigöller (Seven Lakes), Likya Yolu (Lycian Way) and various sea sides at the fair that will end on February 28.
YELLOW LINES BECOMING SAFER
Tactile tiles, paved on sidewalks and walk ways to assist pedestrians who are blind or visually impaired, will become safer. The “HandyHelp”, developed by entrepreneurial students of Izmir University of Economics, will inform the users about the invasions on the sidewalks and prevent potential accidents.

Mobile phones, which have become an indispensable part of our daily lives, pose a significant health threat to our kids by increasing the risk of developing hyperactivity and attention deficit disorder. The experts strongly indicate that brains of growing children especially are extremely sensitive to radio frequency radiation, and they suggest keeping the conversations short and plugging in earphones while talking.
ONE STEP CLOSER TO GRADUATION
Senior high school students kill two birds with one stone. They design their dream prom dresses and receive an award in return. Dreams will be on display at the “3rd Fashion Design Contest among High School Students” organized by IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Fashion and Textile Design.
DECIDED ABOUT THEIR CAREERS
Senior high school students, who are up against a tough exam marathon, learn about their future careers on-site. Students asked about education required, and career opportunities about the professions they are interested in at the “Career Event for High School Students” that took place at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Conference Hall. As they enjoyed being ‘a university student’ for a full day, students also received counseling on how to overcome exam anxiety.
INTERGENERATIONAL BUSINESS LIFE
Intergenerational communication in business life will be brought up at Izmir University of Economics (IUE). Changes in intergenerational work systems will be discussed in detail at the “1st Human Resources Summit” intended for human resources managers and employees. There will also be role play job interviews at the summit that will be co-organized with the Human Management Association of Turkey (PERYON) Aegean Branch on March 10.
