Izmir University of Economics Master’s Programs will train experts that meet the requirements of digital era and needs of the business world. Management and Managerial Development Program, which will admit students for the first time this year, will focus on real life business experiences and Harvard case studies. Students will be taught all aspects of business administration, communication, and relations aspect. Again, Design Management Master’s Program and Occupational Health and Safety Master’s Program will be training educated experts this year. Interested parties may apply until September 3 under the graduate schools section on the University’s web page.
 

Children and youth learn “math” by touching. Those, who are not good with numbers and formulas, learn by experiencing many concepts such as binary number system, golden ratio, Pythagorean theorem, chaos theory at almost 140 different stations at “Tales Mathematics Museum”’ in Aydın founded by Alp Ayaydın, graduate of IUE Department of Public Relations and Advertising.   
 

Mehmet Emre Bozaba became the winner of “To NASA with Izmir Economics” titled instagram contest organized by Izmir University of Economics (IUE). Bozaba, thanks to his creative picture he took by using Augmented Reality Application (IUE AR)-three dimensional reality generated by computer-will be visiting NASA Space Station in America.   
 

Cengiz Ultav, Chairman of Technology Development Foundation of Turkey, stated that many people around the world worked hard to create innovation, that technology had to combine with the real world, and many companies focused on design because of that. 
 

Female chefs of Izmir Economics bring local tastes together with international tastes in Alaçatı. Seçil Moler and Ece Fenerci, both graduates of IUE Department of Culinary Arts and Management, present their customers an exquisite Aegean Cuisine enriched with their education. Moler and Fenerci prepare Greek-Turkish exchange dishes such as “Sea bass with Okra”, “Calamari on Tahini”, “Liver”, “Lavender Rice Pudding”, and “Tandoori Octopus” and serve at Langaza Restaurant.
 

The experts emphasize that ice cream, which is one of the most consumed products in the hot days of summer, is a nutritious sweet however, when comes unpackaged, it might become a threat to human health. They state that ice-cream should be prepared based on health and hygiene rules, and warn that ice creams containing ice crystals might cause throat infection.  
 

High blood pressure will not be an issue anymore. People will be able to measure their blood pressure at shopping malls, in public areas and take precaution thanks to “Bufmatik”, blood pressure monitor designed by Burçin Şimşek, student at IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Industrial Design.
 

The experts emphasize that lots of water should be consumed without feeling thirsty, and the increasing body heat due to warm temperatures and humidity, might cause damage in the vital organs. Urology Specialist Dr. Yavuz Selim Süral, Lecturer at IUE Vocational School of Health Sciences, pointed out the importance of water consumption for healthy body functions, and he said that dehydration caused fatigue, dizziness, low blood pressure, kidney failure, and cardiovascular diseases.
 

United Nations (UN), which was founded with the purpose of achieving world peace, was re-interpreted by students. 200 students from 5 continents all around the world came together at Izmir University of Economics and discussed the current issues in the world and came up with solutions on behalf of countries. Young individuals between the ages of 16 – 25, discussed their opinions under the flags of the represented countries at the event titled, “ECOMUN 2015 Model United Nations Conference”, and tried to bring a permanent peace.

Pets need not worry anymore. Students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Computer Engineering created a pet care station to meet the needs of pets as part of “Smart Pet Assistant Project” which is remotely controlled via mobile equipment. The software and hardware, developed initially for pet cats and dogs, will enable feeding on a regular basis.
