İzmir University of Economics Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design 4th grade students’ second guest in the scope of Applied Workshop course was the award-winning designer Yankı Göktepe.

Members of Izmir University of Economics Photography Club (EKOFOT) initiated a project named “EKOFOT Photography-Friendly” in the scope of the 5th Year Celebration Events. They visited their brothers and sisters in the middle schools of İzmir and shared their photography works.

Student Development and Counseling Center is opened at Izmir University of Economics. Psychological support and counseling services are given to the students by a clinical psychologist. According to the clinical psychologist, university students mostly complain about loneliness.

HRH Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales visited Izmir University of Economics, the first foundation university in the Aegean Region. The British Crown Prince initially visited the Faculty of Computer Sciences, talking to the students in the Electronics and Mac Laboratories.  Then he watched an award winning ‘Protective Clothing’ fashion show, which had been prepared by the students in the Department of Fashion Design students. He then attended a reception given in his honour.

As a result of the international relations of the Buddy Program established in the 2006-2007 academic year between IUE and TAKEV School, the Kids’ Guernica Association will be at our university between 27-28th of September, 2007.

Izmir University of Economics has prepared an orientation program to inform the new coming students about academic, social and cultural subjects and to make students know each other. During the academic and social orientation program that will last four days, the students will take their first step into the academic life and they will make a good start to the new academic year with activities like movie, sports and city tour.

311 students from Undergraduate, Graduate and Vocational School graduated in the 6th year of Izmir University of Economics. In the ceremony, the students that received degree of honor are given “Nutuk” (“The Discourse”). Academicians, parents and many invited guests attended the ceremony in the Izmir University of Economics Open-Air Show Center.

Izmir University of Economics Ladies Volleyball Team has defeated Bursa Coşkuöz Volleyball Team with a 3-0 score in Third League Group A game and became the leader.  

The Student Dormitory built at the Balçova Campus of the Izmir University of Economics is opened. In the opening ceremony, the Governor of Izmir Oğuz Kaan Köksal, Izmir University of Economics Board of Trustees President Ekrem Demirtaş, Izmir University of Economics Rector Prof. Dr. Attila Sezgin and Bioderm Beauty Center manager Asuman Nardalı has cut the tape together.
