After the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Van, aid campaigns have started all over Turkey and Izmir University of Economics students have shown a major support to the campaign.

A helpdesk has been set up (by the main cafeteria, acroos from the revolving doors) by our university students in consequence of the earthquake in Van. The following list includes the items in demand:

The workshops organized by Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Department of Interior Architecture bring students and masters together.

Scientists from Turkey and all around the world, who are experts in their subjects, came together for the “5th Differential Equations and Applications” workshop organized by Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics.

 “Izmir Cultural Heritage Festival” which is going to be held for the first time this year, is going to meet with Izmir audience with a 3 day schedule full of rich activities.

The conference, hosted by Izmir Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Izmir University of Economics and Construction Industrial Centre, brought the architects and engineers together.

The President of the Board of Trustees, Ekrem Demirtaş, advised the youth to go after their dreams and to be patient and entrepreneurs in his “First Lecture” at the 11th Academic Year Opening Ceremony of University of Economics.

Izmir University of Economics 2011-2012 Academic Year will begin with the “First Course” to be lectured by President of the Board of Trustees Ekrem Demirtaş. During the ceremony, the first “zeibek”, that was created by Selim Sırrı Tarcan upon Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s request, where male and female dances together, will be presented.

Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Law brought nuclear energy, a subject that’s being discussed for years worldwide, to the table.

Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Communications Research Assistant Özgür Seçim, has brought the first advertisements of Ottoman Era to light.
