STUDENTS OF THE FUTURE GET A TASTE OF UNIVERSITY LIFE
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) is opening its doors to the future scientists. Today’s children will be shaping the science world of tomorrow. Children will be receiving training on science, technology, engineering, mathematics, mind games, software, robotics, and philosophy at Izmir University of Economics Children’s Academy. The deadline for applications for the training intended for age groups 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10 is set as February 14. The first part of the training courses that will take place on Saturdays will end on May 27.

Healthy eating and sports are inseparable parts of our lives. The experts strongly suggest that healthy eating, which became a trend recently, should include complex carbohydrates involving whole grains, that help to slow absorption of glucose into the bloodstream, green vegetables, and legumes. Ceren Türkcan Kayhan, Lecturer, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Vocational School of Health Services, pointed that people lacked necessary information regarding carbohydrates and insulin within the trio of nutrition, natural life, and sports.
DREAMY WEDDING DRESSES AT THE BRIDAL FAIR
IUE fashion designers come into mind when it’s time for IF Wedding Fashion Izmir - Wedding Dresses, Suits, and Evening Gowns Fair, an organization bridal industry gets ready for all year long where students reach out to the industry with their designs. This year, Tuğçe Görgülü, student at IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Fashion and Textile Design, will be displaying her designs under the collection titled “Düş Bahçesi (Dreamland)” to the giants of the fashion world on February 9 at 19.00.
LANGUAGE EXPERIENCE OF GIFTED CHILDREN
Izmir University of Economics welcomed gifted children. Students of Konak Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi (Science and Art Center) came together with foreign national instructors of Izmir University of Economics, where the medium of instruction is English, and practiced English for 2 hours. Instructors, working at IUE School of Foreign Languages, taught games to almost 60 students and got them familiarized with a new language.
SPECIALIZATION IN HEALTH SCIENCES AT IZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS
The world of health is starting classes at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) in order to increase their occupational development. Applications to “Reproductive Biology”, "Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety" and "Health Institutions Management" graduate programs, following the approval of the establishment of IUE Graduate School of Health Sciences, have started. The first meeting of the Graduate School will be held on February 1; deadline for application is set as February 8.
24 NEW COMPUTER GAMES IN 48 SLEEPLESS HOURS
The virtual world gained 24 new games under the theme of ‘Waves’ at digital game sector’s most important game development organization Global Game Jam’s (GGJ) Izmir leg. 110 participants spent 48 hours of little or no sleep at the event organized by Izmir University of Economics where software developers, designers, and members of computer world came together.
BE AN EXPLORER IN SEMESTER HOLIDAY!
Students, who completed the first semester of the academic year, will be on semester holiday until February 3. As the students will get a chance to rest and enjoy their 16-day holiday, the experts recommend students and parents creative ways to spend this period efficiently and pleasantly.
FRESH LOAF OF BAKED BREAD AT IUE!
Homes will be filled with the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread. Italian, French, and Israeli breads will be introduced to the participants of the “3 Countries 3 Breads” titled workshop that will be organized by Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Culinary Arts and Management. Italian Focaccia, French Brioche, and Israeli Challah breads will be baked during the workshop led by Chef Oğuz Olgun, from IUE Department of Culinary Arts and Management, on January 21. Interested parties are urged to get in touch with Department of Culinary Arts and Management.
MUSIC MAKES LEARNING EASIER
Playing a musical instrument improves learning skills. People, who play any instrument including guitar, drums, piano, violin, etc. has higher level of perception. Study conducted by students of Department of Psychology, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) revealed that people who played musical instrument(s) learned easier than those who did not.
AEGEAN CUISINE CULTURE AT MONTREAL
375th anniversary of Montreal, member of DELICE Network of Gourmet Cities, will be celebrated with different flavors of the world. Exquisite tastes of Aegean Region will be promoted by Izmir University of Economics, Department of Culinary Arts and Management at the celebrations that will begin on February 25.
