The deadline for Izmir University of Economics (IUE) fall semester graduate programs registrations, for those who want to make a difference in their careers by having a graduate degree, is set for August 24, 2016.
DECLINE IN HOME LOANS
The news regarding a decline in home loans (lower than 1%), announced by first President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and then Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, will be a great opportunity for many people, stated the experts. Home loan rates, which used to be around 1.14% monthly, now declined to 0.90%; citizens on a 60 month payment will be paying 8 thousand 760 TL less for a 100 thousand deferred loan.
IUE INTERIOR ARCHITECTS’ OVERSEAS EXPERIENCE
Students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design will bear witness to Japanese world of design. Thanks to the 80% scholarship provided by the Japanese Government, 5 Turkish students will get a chance to observe the Japanese design approach up close. Students will take a trip to the city of Chiba and the surrounding architectural and art centers as part of the Exchange/Communication Program between IUE Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design and Chiba University Department of Architecture. They will also get a chance to experience traditional and contemporary architectural work. IUE interior architects will be attending the architectural contest with their project they will develop at Chiba University.
IZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS WELCOMES NEW STUDENTS WHO WILL SHAPE THE FUTURE
Izmir University of Economics is excited to welcome two thousand 220 new students based on the undergraduate placement results announced by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Centre). Izmir University of Economics, with one thousand 506 undergraduate and 714 associate program placements, will be educating students who will shape the future.
BUSINESS WORLD AND ALUMNI COME TOGETHER
Izmir Economics alumni will be under one roof in alumni information system. Almost 10 thousand 500 alumni within the University, which was established by Izmir Chamber of Commerce, Health and Education Foundation in 2001, will come together. The system, available at https://mezun.ieu.edu.tr/ web address, will allow increasing number of alumni to stay in touch with each other and with the University, and update their career information.
AMBASSADORS OF IZMIR
The future industrial engineers and managers from all over Europe came together in Izmir at en event hosted by Izmir University of Economics ESTIEM (European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management) Club. 30 participants from 20 countries got a chance to know Izmir and Turkey up close as part of the event titled, “Europe3D Turkey”.
BRANDS WILL MEET WITH DESIGNERS ONLINE
Young fashion designers willl bring their designs together with women’s fashion brands on an online platform. Brands will be able to reach young designers thanks to a web based system developed by Nurdan Boğa, student of IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design, and her team mate Yağmur Boğa. The project came in third place at “Bu Gençlikte İş Var” titled competition organized by Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD) and brought a breath of fresh air to the world of design.
IZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS SHAPING THE FASHION
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) is getting ready to welcome fashion designers who will shape the global fashion. IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design started pre-registrations to admit students through an aptitude test. The deadline for pre-registrations is August 8.
IUE STUDENTS TRAIN TO BECOME ‘ENTREPRENEURS’
Izmir University of Economics students will be trained to become enrepreneurs. IUE Vocational School students will take the initial steps in starting their own business through an Enrepreneurship Course, designed in collaboration with KOSGEB (Small and Medium Industry Development Organization). As part of the course, students will learn to develop innovative business models. Students who successfully complete the course will be entitled to a 50,000 TL grant as well as a 150,000 TL KOSGEB support with no payment for two years.
JOINT DECLARATION BY ICC AND IUE
Izmir Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Izmir University of Economics (IUE) declare that they fully defend democracy. Ekrem Demirtaş, President of Izmir Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Izmir University of Economics Board of Trustees, stated that they will recognize no other will than that of the people, that they will never renounce democracy and that they will not accept any attempts at a coup d’état.
