WARM CLOTHING FOR THE DISABLED
European Union Project, co-developed by Izmir University of Economics-Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, and industry, will find solution by creating special designs for heating problem of disabled people using wheelchairs, or those who cannot move. For the first time in Turkey, the “Knitted Fabric and Clothing Designs for Smart Textile” titled project will manufacture clothes that will heat the joints of disabled people and create a magnetic field.
SUPPORTING THE SISTER SCHOOL
Izmir University of Economics supported sister school Salih Dede High School with an end of year seminar for teachers. Salih Dede High School teachers received training on subjects such as "critical thinking and course design based on critical thinking", "ideal teacher", "testing and measurement techniques", "drama as a teaching method", "classroom management", "learning motivation", and "technology as a teaching method".
IUE’S SPECTACULAR GRADUATION CEREMONY
IUE Graduates of Faculties of Business Administration, Fine Arts and Design, and School of Applied Management Sciences, who successfully completed their studies in 2014 – 2015 Academic Year, were granted their diplomas. The students threw their caps into the air as they sang the 10th Year Anthem at the second of the graduation ceremonies that took place at IUE Amphitheatre.
ENTHUSIASTIC GRADUATION AT IUE
2015 graduates of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) took their first steps into the business life. 829 young individuals who completed their education successfully in 2014 – 2015 Academic Year, received their diplomas at the ceremony that took place at IUE Amphitheatre. At the end of the ceremony, the graduates proudly threw their caps into the air as they sang the 10th Year Anthem.
NEW DEPARTMENTS AT IUE
The youth, with the recently opened departments and programs at Izmir University of Economics, will build the future in an entrepreneurial and innovative culture. With the permission granted by Turkish Higher Education Council, IUE Faculty of Engineering and Computer Sciences will admit students to the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering for the first time this year. Physical Therapy, Child Development, Medical Imaging Techniques, and Opticianry programs in Vocational School of Health Services will train the support personnel in health field. Vocational School will offer new programs in Construction Technology, and Applied English and Translation.
GRADUATES WILL INFORM THE PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
Graduates of IUE Faculty of Business will talk about their professions. Graduates of Departments of Economics, Business Administration, Logistics Management, Political Science and International Relations, International Finance and Trade, who are employed in different sectors currently, will talk to prospective students and give information to them about their professional experiences until July 14.
HEALTH CONTEST RESULTS ARE IN
Students used their creativity in “Sağlık Olsun (Health)” themed story, photography, and short film contest organized by Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Health Sciences in order to create awareness among students. The winners received phones, tablets, and cameras as rewards.
IUE STUDENTS, WORLD CITIZENS
Students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) successfully represent Turkey worldwide with scholarships they receive. İlayda Gökdoğan and Gizem Şentürk, both students of Department of International Trade and Finance who take Chinese as a second foreign language, were invited by Confucius Institute to attend the summer camp at Shanghai University, China. And Kardelen Köse and Gamze Sayat, both students of Foreign Trade and Logistics Program at IUE Vocational School, qualified to receive Fulbright Commission Vocational Education Training Scholarship. Köse will receive education for 1 year at California Santa Rosa Junior International Business and perform internship, while Sayat will attend Northern Virginia Alexandria Logistics program.
