Psychologist Dr. Özge Alkanat, Director of Psychological Support Research & Application Center, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), gave some valuable tips to help ensure a smooth transition for parents on their child's first day of school. 

Gökay Gök, Şeyhmus Kaçan, and Eylül Ekimler, students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) attended a summer camp in China paid by the Chinese government where they got a chance to improve their Chinese language skills and get familiar with other cultures.

Burakhan Sayın from Izmir, who wanted to be a lawyer since childhood, and got a chance to study at Faculty of Law, thanks to a transfer opportunity from Vocational School of Justice to Faculty of Law, turned that chance into a success. 

Two teams from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) will compete for championship at the final of Teknofest 2019 Rocket Competition, which aims to increase students’ interest in science and help them develop themselves about technological production.

Turkish and Japanese industrial design students came together at the international workshop held at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) to work on street foods such as  boyoz (type of pastry), kumru (type of sandwich), gevrek (type of bagel), şambali tatlısı (Turkish Damascus dessert), and stuffed mussels.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) hosted a three-day camp for the members of the Turkish Medical Students Association. The camp aimed to allow students self-develop and get information about internship opportunities, and research exchange. 

Melike Evtut, who recently graduated from Department of Business Management, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) with full scholarship, also qualified for a full scholarship granted by the Chinese Government for a limited number of students from Turkey. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) welcomed the ‘Target of 1 Million Sapling’ campaign, initiated by Izmir Chambers, Stock Exchanges, and Unions, in order to reforest the 500-hectares of forestland that got affected by the fire, greatly. 

Costumes of German theater come to life in the hands of IUE fashion designers. Jörn Fröhlich, Lecturer, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Fashion and Textile Design, completed the design of stage and costumes of the play Cabaret. Fröhlich formerly designed the stage and costumes for the plays Grimm and Gretel, Alice in Wonderland, and Ubu the King, staged by the German theater group ‘Theater Spiellust’.    

Yonca Kandemir, who graduated from Department of Translation and Interpretation, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) with high honors this year, qualified for graduate education in the field of applied linguistics in Germany with a full scholarship. Kandemir, who successfully qualified to receive the scholarship granted to only 30 people in Turkey by the Turkish Educational Foundation (TEV) and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), will study for two years at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nurnberg, one of the most innovative universities in Europe.
