‘Success is important for us; we extended scholarship at a significant extent’
Prof. Murat Borovalı, Consultant to IUE Board of Trustees (General Coordinator) stated that during an open house, students needed to place emphasis on what kind of an ecosystem and environment they want to receive education at primarily. Prof. Murat Borovalı said that they were working closer with Izmir Chamber of Commerce, and while setting the quotas this year, they increased the scholarship rates from 24% to 41%.
Izmir University of Economics graduates go global
Graduates of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) encourage the future generations. 208 IUE graduates caught an opportunity to pursue their careers abroad and became the first choice of international companies. IUE Rector Prof. Murat Aşkar said, “We are raising individuals who are open to innovations, generate knowledge, and develop ideas all the time. Achievements of IUE graduates are a solid proof that they start their life journey one step ahead.”
International conference in honor of the 60th birthday of IUE Professor
An international conference has been held in honor of the 60th birthday of Prof. İsmihan Bayramoğlu, Founding Dean of Faculty of Arts and Science of Izmir University of Economics, who is among the most respected scholars worldwide for his groundbreaking studies in the field of math. Approximately 50 scholars from 10 countries attended the conference in Istanbul.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) started the “Dekanlarımızla Tercih Masası (IUE deans going live on social media)” in order to give detailed information about departments/ programs to prospective university students. The program, which is broadcasted live on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube, attracted great attention.
Junk DNA Diseases
Diseases, in genes that have lost function over thousands of years, are being encoded during the initial 3-4 days of the fetal development. Traces of diseases, which have been carried along over thousands of years in these DNA sequences, called as ‘Junk DNA’ by scientists, distinctively emerged for the first in the development of fetus. Assistant Professor Cihangir Yandım, Lecturer at Department of Genetics and Bioengineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), stated that scientists have overlooked this area; however, they established a new data for junk DNA research.
Clinical Psychologist in demand will be trained at Izmir University of Economics
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Psychology opens its doors to students who want to pursue their academic studies by doing masters in the field of clinical psychology. IUE Department of Psychology completed all preparations to offer best quality education to prospective graduate students. The medium of education will be in English and applications will be made to the School of Graduate Studies until 2 September. The introductory meeting of the program will take place on Wednesday, 31 July 2019 at 18.30 at Izmir Chamber of Commerce with the participation of Prof. Falih Köksal, Assoc. Prof. Seda Can, and Asst. Prof. Yasemin Meral Öğütçü.
A great interest to Campus Izmir
Prospective student counseling service started by Izmir University of Economics (IUE) in order to help students make the right decisions about their education choices, has attracted great attention of the prospective students and their parents from day one. A team of 100 people including academicians, guidance counselors and volunteering students started one-on-one meetings with the candidates at three different locations on Campus Izmir, one of a kind university-industry collaboration model nationwide. Prof. Murat Borovalı, Consultant to IUE Board of Trustees (General Coordinator) stated that making the right university/program choice was just as important as the examination period. Prof. Murat Borovalı said, “During this time, it is very important to get help from people who are experts in their field, have good command about the subject, and are dependable. We hope to see all prospective students at the University.”
Continuous Scholarship Support By Izmir Universitey of Economics
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) supports its students with “uninterrupted scholarship” so they can reach their goals. Students and prospective students of Izmir University of Economics will be able to pursue their academic goals without worrying their scholarship will be terminated. They will be eligible for scholarship throughout the education period allowed by the Higher Education Council (YOK).
Educational collaboration between Izmir University of Economics and the University of Missouri
Izmir University of Economics, which has educational collaborations with over 200 universities worldwide, also signed a collaboration with the University of Missouri (MU), USA to offer education opportunities abroad for its students. Based on the academic collaboration between IUE and University of Missouri, students of Computer, Software, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering will receive both undergraduate and graduate degrees in 5 years with the 3+2 system.
Supporting the prospective students to make the right choice
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) is going to help shape the future of the young people with a team of 100 people. IUE academicians, guidance counselors and volunteering students will provide guidance services to the prospective university students on campus between the dates of 18-29 July 2019 as part of the “IUE Prospective Student Counseling Service”. The prospective students will get all their questions and concerns answered.
