“The Journal of the National Struggle towards its 100^th Anniversary” titled exhibition, depicting the day-to-day struggles of Turkish Nation during the War of Independence, is now available for audience at Izmir University of Economics. Izmir University of Economics (IUE) commemorates the 100^th anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the savior of Turkish Nation and the founder of the Republic of Turkey, landing at Samsun to initiate the War of Independence.

Almost 90 students from different countries came together at Izmir University of Economics (IUE) to find solutions for problems the refugee children are experiencing. Students from Portugal, Spain, Greece, and Turkey, as part of the “See like a Child” project, launched by IUE Faculty of Communication last year, developed a “Youth Declaration” to help minimize the problems faced by refugee children.

Children drew about their dream toys, and future designers turned those dreams into reality. Students of Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) started to work on designing the dream toys of 18 students from Bayraklı 100. Yıl Elementary School as part of the “Toy Design Project”.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) proves its leadership in education with its students’ entrepreneurial skills. IUE students came in first and third place at the “Bu Gençlikte İş Var! Aegean 2019” titled competition organized by the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD). The competition is specifically held for the Aegean Region for the first time. Moreover, IUE students also ranked third at the “Bu Gençlikte İş Var! 2019” competition held nationwide by TUSIAD.

See like a Child project, launched by Faculty of Communication, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) to eliminate the negative discourse on refugee children, is now making its voice heard also in European universities. The Project received “European Union Erasmus +KA347 Structured Dialogue Projects Grant”. 90 students from Portugal, Spain, Greece, and Turkey came together to find solutions for refugee children at the “Dialogue Week” initiated as part of the support program.

It has been emphasized that the ecosystems created by cities were larger than countries, and Izmir has every opportunity to become a global city. A “Global Urban Networks: The Case of Izmir” titled panel was held by the leadership of Izmir University of Economics (IUE), Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FFAD), Department of Architecture, and by the contributions of Izmir Chamber of Commerce (IZTO), Marmara Municipalities Union (MBB). Mayor Tunç Soyer, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Cemal Elmasoğlu and Emre Kızılgüneşler, Vice Chairmen of Izmir Chamber of Commerce (IZTO), Dr. Cemil Arslan, Secretary General of Marmara Municipalities Union, Prof. Dr. Ender Yazgan Bulgun, Dean, IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, and Assoc. Prof. Aslı Ceylan Öner, Head, IUE FFAD Department of Architecture, attended the panel.

Students of Izmir University of Economics celebrated the arrival of spring at the “Spring Fest 19”. Students enthused over the concerts by Pinhani, and Son Feci Bisiklet, and had cheerful moments with sports activities, performances and concerts by student clubs, and chats.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) brought those who make a difference in business life together with the professionals. Managers, who make a difference with breakthroughs in business life, shared their experiences at the “3rd Human Resources Summit” intended for human resources managers and employees.

Students of Izmir University of Economics are celebrating the arrival of spring with a festival. Students will enthuse over the concerts by Pinhani, and Son Feci Bisiklet, and chat with Aybüke Albere, Nebil Sayın, and famous Youtubers at the “Spring Fest 19” on 29 – 30 April.

Our designs are now flying around the world. She got inspired by paper planes and designed cabin crew uniforms for Atlasglobal Airlines. Starting from May, Atlasglobal Airlines will be using the collection of Yaren Eren, junior at Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE). Yaren Eren came in first place at the cabin crew uniform design competition sponsored by Atlasglobal.
