Izmir University of Economics Applied Mathematics and Statistics Ph.D. Program produced another graduate. Sinan Kapçak, Ph.D. student in Applied Mathematics and Statistics Program completed his thesis defence and decided to continue his career overseas.

German students will be learning “International Accounting and Financial Reporting” at Izmir University of Economics (IUE). 72 German students will receive training on International Financial Reporting Standards and Financial Statements Analysis at the summer school that was organized by IUE Department of Business Administration between the dates of July 21-28.

The SANTEZ project named GEYOPA II - Solar Plant Investment Optimization and Project Toolkit (GEYOPA II), directed by Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar, the Dean of the Graduate School on Natural and Applied Science and the Head of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, has been successfully completed.
The project has lasted for 24 months and jointly supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Industry, and the company Teknologis Ltd.

Agricultural products that are unique to the Aegean Region will be processed by experts trained by Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Food Sciences of Izmir University of Economics. Food engineers of IUE will make the whole world know about the ‘Aegean figs, olives, and grapes’. IUE Department of Food Engineering will be accepting students for the first time this year, and future engineers will vitalize the agricultural based industry of Izmir and its surroundings. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) is taking firm steps in making a breakthrough in health education. Studies are underway to welcome first students of IUE Faculty of Medicine, which is recently established. Meanwhile, Faculty of Health Sciences will train managers for health centres with the intention of providing a healthy and peaceful environment for older people. IUE Vocational School of Health Sciences will welcome its first students in Elderly Care, and Medical Documentation and Secretariat Programs. IUE is waiting to embrace the first students of this challenging discipline.

Math graduates of Izmir University of Economics are heading towards scientific studies at overseas. Femin Yalçın, who graduated from IUE Department of Mathematics with high honour degree in 2009, has completed Applied Mathematics and Statistics Ph.D. Program.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) stands out with many benefits it offers to prospective students. IUE will grant scholarships to one thousand 41 students out of one thousand 968 students that will start education in the coming academic year. Successful students, who are placed into undergraduate degree (4-year) programs or associate degree (2-year) programs based on their placement scores, will have a chance to benefit from various scholarships.

The whole world applauds the contributions of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) in the field of mathematics. Prof. Dr. Murat Adıvar, Vice Rector and Faculty Member in the Department of Mathematics at Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Izmir University of Economics, has been awarded the title of “Professor Emeritus” at the World Global Optimization Conference, by Anhui State University in People’s Republic of China. The title, which was being awarded to scientists in USA every year, was awarded to a Turkish scientist for the first.

A floating crib was designed to ease the transition period for new-borns after spending approximately nine months in the safety of their mothers’ wombs. Families will say goodbye to sleepless nights with the product called “NAVİ”, which imitates mothers’ womb.

Ekrem Demirtaş, President of the Board of Trustees of Izmir University of Economics (IUE), pointed out that they had an education approach integrated with the world, and they offered much more than education to their students.
