Aytaç Dayanç, while he was attending IUE Vocational School-Logistics Program, established Far East Sports student club, and built a business on his hobby. Dayanç proved his entrepreneurship skills by establishing the ‘White Club’ and turned his hobby into a profitable business, where he offers training on different branches, mainly Far East sports but also on ballet, chess, piano, drawing, etc.

Alaçatı restaurants serve dishes prepared by young chefs graduated from Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Department of Culinary Arts and Management. IUE chefs display their talents in world cuisines for customers in Alaçatı, the most popular tourist attraction. The young chefs, who just graduated from Department of Culinary Arts and Management in 2012 – 2013 academic year, in a way were grabbed up by restaurants where they would be serving ostentatious flavours and prove themselves in cuisine. The young chefs started working at Alaçatı restaurants the day after their graduation ceremony.
IUE WILL MAKE A BREAKTHROUGH IN HEALTH WITH EŞREFPAŞA HOSPITAL
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) will start its journey in the field of health with Eşrefpaşa Hospital. IUE Faculty of Medicine, which is waiting for an approval from YOK (Higher Education Council) to admit students, and prospective health managers to be trained by Faculty of Health Sciences, will take first steps of their careers in Eşrefpaşa Hospital. Based on the protocol signed between Prof. Dr. Tunçdan Baltacıoğlu, Rector of Izmir University of Economics, and Pervin Şenel Genç, Secretary General of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the future doctors and health managers will be trained at Eşrefpaşa Hospital.
TURKEY WILL FOLLOW THE FOOTSTEPS OF USA IN ECONOMY
The economists, who claim that the USA is the heart of world economy, stated that Turkey should follow a path similar to the USA policies, which as a result would cause interest rates to increase and slow down the growth. Prof. Dr. Hakan Yetkiner, Lecturer at Izmir University of Economics-Department of Economics, pointed out that the biggest danger for Turkey’s economy was the US Federal Reserve increasing the interests and decreasing the liquidity. Prof. Dr. Yetkiner, made assessments about Turkish economy for the second half of 2013, and indicated that the country would follow a policy that would match that of USA’s.

The lecturers, who integrated the dreamy gowns of heroines of our childhood stories told by our parents with contemporary touches, used silk from Odemiş Region and opened the doors to new dreams with the gowns they designed.
