One of the projects of the second year students of the Department of Visual Communication Design at Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, was  about making a museum exhibition or collection within Izmir (Toy Museum, Art and Archeology Museum, Arkas Art Gallery, Mask Museum etc.) accessible to the special audience of visually impaired people. In that respect, students designed, tested and produced tactile (raised) graphics for 3 objects representative of the exhibition/collection, the tactile map of the exhibition or gallery space, and a promotional material.

Izmir University of Economics-Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Political Science and International Relations students simulated Portuguese government at Model European Union (MEU) 2013 that took place at New York.

The most creative ads, which were awarded at the 10th “Kırmızı Basında En İyiler Reklam Ödülleri” (The Best Advertisements Award), will be exhibited at the lounge of Izmir University of Economics on May 02 – 12. 

Izmir University of Economics- Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, and Department of Architecture organized a workshop on “Health Environments/Spaces in Izmir/Bayraklı” with the participation of students from both departments.

Designer Deniz Karaşahin, graduate of Izmir University of Economics-Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Industrial Design, won the first prize for her Calliope record player, her dissertation project,  at International A’ Design competition.

Prof. Dr. K. Nazan Turhan, IUE Dean of Faculty of Agricultural Technology and Food Sciences, has been invited to the International Women Inventors’ Exhibition to represent Turkey with her “Squeezable Tea Bag” invention that she developed for tea bags which have an everyday use in many people’s lives but may result in burning hands or being splashed around.  

Izmir University of Economics, the first Foundation University of Aegean Region, celebrated 12th anniversary of its establishment with a spectacular ceremony.
