IZMIR BREAKS ITS OWN RECORDS WHEN IT COMES TO DIVORCING
Experts state that Aegean Region is on top of the list in divorce rates among Turkey and that people do not want to lead an unhappy life in a western life style. According to Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) data, total of 1 million 43 thousand 97 couples got separated in the last 10 years. The divorce statistics increased to 114 thousand 162 in 2009, 118 thousand 568 in 2010, 120 thousand 117 in 2011, and 123 thousand 325 in 2012. 22 thousand 367 couples in Aegean Region, and 10 thousand 868 couples in Izmir got divorced to lead separate lives in 2012. The quickest way to get divorced in the first hearing is through uncontested divorce.

It is stated that explaining the philosophy of the “math” properly played a major role in making math more admirable, which may become a nightmare for students throughout their education life. Experts stressed that new perspectives were necessary for math, which was identified by students as ‘abstract, disliked, boring, and difficult’.

The first time organization, “Media Days”, by IUE Media Club, will take place on October 8-10, 2013 at Izmir University of Economics. 52 expert speakers will attend the organization at IUE Conference Hall to discuss the past, present, and future of Turkish media.
ECONOMISTS SUGGEST “PRAYING” FOR THE DESPERATE SITUATION IN USA!
As the Obama administration experiences difficult times following the recent government shutdown crisis in USA, it is indicated that FED, Federal Reserve System, who gave “the go-ahead to bond buying program” last month, is likely to maintain this attitude. Economists state that October 17 is the critical date for the country, and in the event of failure to get an authorization for additional borrowing on that date in the U.S Congress, a crisis similar to that of in Turkey where the Constitutional Code Book was thrown in 2001, is to be expected. According to the economists, the most rational solution is to pray and wait until things come to a resolution.
WORLD ON THE BRINK OF ANOTHER CRISIS
While the whole world is alarmed at the “government shutdown” crisis in USA, the experts warn about a possibility of a bigger crisis if the Republicans and the Democrats cannot come to an agreement. The House and the Senate couldn't agree on the new fiscal year budget to fund the government, and as a result the government shutdown kicked in, causing many federal agencies to shut their doors 17 years later and sending almost 800 thousand federal employees home without pay. Turkey, like the rest of the world, is anxiously following the issue.

Izmir University of Economics academicians will calculate the energy security of the companies in Turkey where foreign dependency in energy consumption is increasing each passing day. The study will include the first 500 industrial organizations operating in Turkey in order to identify their energy awareness, corporate strategies, and how well they conform to the energy policies stated by the government. The industry-university collaboration will look for solutions to decrease the foreign dependency of Turkey resulting in 60 billion dollars energy import every year with a study titled, “The Energy Security Perception of Turkish Industrial Organizations: Industry Strategy Document and Energy Policies Adaptation Research”.
